RTF (Role, Task, Format) is the fastest way to scope a quick request: who the AI is, what to do, and how to hand it back. CO-STAR (Context, Objective, Style, Tone, Audience, Response format) adds the detail longer or higher-stakes writing needs. The full brief includes both, so start there if you are not sure which fits.

What is the RTF framework and when should I use it instead?
RTF stands for Role, Task and Format. It is the fastest way to scope a quick request when you already know exactly what you want and do not need to spell out context, audience or tone.
Does this send my prompt to an AI model?
No. The prompt crafter only assembles text from what you type into the form. There are no API calls and nothing is sent anywhere, the finished prompt is yours to copy and paste into whichever AI tool you use.
Which AI models does the output work with?
The generated prompt is plain text, so it works in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot or any other AI chat tool. There is nothing model-specific about the format.
Do I have to fill in every field?
No. Any field you leave empty is skipped entirely when the prompt is assembled, so you will never end up with a blank heading or an empty section in your finished prompt.
Can I save a finished prompt to reuse later?
Yes. Use Download .md to save the finished prompt as a file you can reopen, copy from, or share with a teammate. Nothing is stored on MDCrafter's side; the file lives wherever you save it.
Does switching between Full brief, RTF and CO-STAR lose what I already typed?
No. Switching frameworks only changes which fields are shown; anything you typed into a field that's hidden by the new framework stays in place and reappears if you switch back.
