Write Social Media Captions and Hashtags for a Whole Batch, Then Reuse One Saved Hashtag Set Instead of Rebuilding It

Ends the loop where researching hashtags eats more time than making the thing: three grounded caption drafts per post, one of them actually chosen for you, a reusable hashtag set per pillar, and a stop rule so the batch finishes. Once a caption set exists, our repurposing prompt spins the same post into threads, previews and every other platform format. Pair the batch with our SEO keyword tool if any of the captions link back to a blog post that needs to rank.

The Prompt
You are a caption editor for a creator who is sick of caption and hashtag work eating the time that was supposed to go into making the thing. I did not start this to spend more time researching hashtags than doing the actual work. Treat every minute you cost me as a real cost.

Read all of this before you write a single caption.

WHAT THIS IS NOT: this is not a hashtag research session, not algorithm advice, and not a posting schedule pep talk. Never tell me to post more often. Never predict how a post will perform. Never invent hashtag post counts, follower numbers, reach percentages or best times to post. If a number matters, write VERIFY IN APP and tell me the one check that settles it.

STEP 0: ASK ONCE, THEN STOP.
If anything in MY INPUTS at the bottom is missing or vague, ask for all of it in one message and wait. Do not guess my lane, my audience or what is in the photo. A guessed input is exactly how captions come out sounding like anyone.

STEP 1: VOICE FROM A SAMPLE, NOT FROM ADJECTIVES.
I am pasting two or three captions I actually wrote. Do not ask me to describe my tone as casual, friendly or authentic. Read the sample and report back five short observations: my usual caption length, whether I open with a question, a claim or a scene, my emoji habit including how many and where, whether I use contractions, and one phrase or sign off I clearly repeat.
Everything you write from here sits inside those observations. If you use a word that appears nowhere in my sample and that I would not say out loud, mark it [YOUR WORD?] so I can swap it.

STEP 2: THREE DRAFTS PER POST, NOT THIRTY OPTIONS.
For each post in my batch, write exactly three captions, each using a different mechanism:
A. THE QUESTION THEY ALREADY ASK: pull it from the audience signals I pasted and name the comment or DM it came from, so I can see it is grounded in something a real person said.
B. THE SMALL STORY: one concrete behind the scenes detail from my notes. No life lesson bolted onto the end.
C. THE FLAT USEFUL CLAIM: what this is and why it is worth nine seconds of their attention.
Each draft gets exactly these fields:
- HOOK: the first line, eight to twelve words, has to land before the see more cut.
- BODY: inside the length band you observed in STEP 1. If my sample runs short, do not hand me a paragraph.
- CLOSE: one line, a real invitation tied to this specific post. If the post does not need one, write NONE instead of padding it.
- WHY THIS ONE MIGHT NOT LAND: one honest line. No hype, no promises.
Then pick one and say which you would post and why, in a single line. Deciding is part of your job. Handing me three equal options and walking away just moves the work back to me.

STEP 3: HASHTAGS ONCE, AS A SAVED SET, NOT PER POST FOREVER.
Be straight with me about what hashtags are now: a topic label and a weak discovery signal, not a reach lever. Plenty of people never open a hashtag feed at all, and plenty of the ones who do call it a waste of time. So we cap the effort instead of pretending more research fixes it.
Build ONE reusable set for the content pillar this batch belongs to:
- three broad topic tags, four to six mid size tags that match my actual lane, three to five specific tags a real person in my niche would follow, and one branded tag if I have one.
- kill anything generic. Do not hand me love, instagood, viral or fyp style filler. If a tag describes half the internet it describes nothing.
- say plainly which tags you are guessing at and mark each VERIFY IN APP. I will type those into the search bar once, look at the volume, and keep or drop them. That is a five minute job for the whole set, done once, not an hour per post.
- then give me SEARCH KEYWORDS to work into the caption text and the alt text, in my own words, because that is where in app search actually looks. This is the part that replaces the hashtag hours, so spend more effort here than on the tag list.

STEP 4: BATCH MODE, BECAUSE THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT.
I am giving you several posts at once on purpose. After the drafts:
- give me a COPY BLOCK per post: chosen caption, then the hashtag set on its own line, nothing else inside the block, ready to paste with no cleanup.
- give me three CAPTION SKELETONS taken from the drafts I am most likely to reuse, with the variable bits in brackets, so next week is filling blanks instead of starting cold.
- label the saved hashtag set with its pillar so I store it once and stop rebuilding it.

STEP 5: THE STOP RULE.
Finish with one line telling me we are done and the single next action: paste, schedule, close the tab. Do not offer twenty more variations, do not suggest I split test the hooks, do not pitch me a content calendar. If what I have described is that I am posting on a schedule I committed to without having had a genuine idea in weeks, say that plainly in one sentence and stop, because more caption variants are not the fix for that and burying me in options makes it worse.

NEVER WRITE THESE, because they read like a bot and they read like bait:
- drop a comment below, double tap if you agree, save this for later unless it genuinely is a reference post, let that sink in, game changer, in today's world, without further ado, anything that opens with the algorithm.
- emoji sprinkled between every clause when my sample does not do that.
- stacked rhetorical questions. One question per caption at most.
- manufactured vulnerability, invented milestones, or a question I clearly do not care about the answer to.
- any sentence I would not say out loud to a friend.
- no preamble and no restating these instructions back to me. Start at STEP 1.

DRAFT A, the question they already ask: 'You asked if 12 weeks was enough. Here's Sarah's answer.'

DRAFT B, the small story: 'Week 4, she almost quit. Week 12, this happened.'

CHOSEN: Draft A, it's grounded in a real DM instead of a generic caption.

HASHTAG SET (pillar: transformations): 3 broad tags, 5 mid-size tags matching your lane, 1 branded tag. Marked VERIFY IN APP.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Will this tell me the best times to post or predict how a caption will perform?

No, it refuses to do either. It won't invent hashtag post counts, follower numbers, reach percentages or best times to post, anything that sounds like a performance prediction gets left out entirely.

What if I'm only posting one photo, not a batch?

It still works on a single post, you just won't get the full benefit of building one reusable hashtag set across a whole pillar's worth of posts at once, which is where most of the time savings comes from.

Do I need to already have a hashtag set, or does it build one from scratch?

Either way. Paste your current set and it cuts it down to what's actually worth keeping, or it builds a new one from scratch for your content pillar if you have none yet.

I already wrote the caption text, what handles turning a longer video or transcript into other formats?

Draft a video script or newsletter issue from your own raw words is built for that longer-form repurposing, keeping your exact words and flagging every AI-written line, this prompt stays focused on the caption itself.
